Summer Camps
River Camp at Scout Island
There is no better way to spend time in the summer than swimming in cool water, canoeing, exploring wildlife habitat, and making new friends at the San Joaquin River. Our lively and experienced staff of camp counselors, lifeguards, visiting scientists and artists keeps activities safe and fun! This popular day camp program, in a peaceful and natural setting, is held for seven weeks in the summer to accommodate all the children who want to enjoy a week at the river. The coveted River Camp 2010 T-shirt is included in the price.
All Aboard! 1st through 8th grade River Campers will meet the River Camp Bus at the WalMart parking lot at Ingram and Herndon. Campers and staff members will ride the bus to Scout Island in the morning, and return in the bus to WalMart in the afternoon. Complete information will be provided in your confirmation letter.

Scout Island:
River Camp is held at Scout Island, a beautiful 85-acre outdoor education facility owned by the Fresno County Office of Education. Scout Island is located at the end of Van Ness Avenue, easily accessible from anywhere in Fresno. The River Parkway Trust is proud to partner with FCOE in bringing local environmental education to the children in our community.
