River Camp Junior Leaders Program
Come spend part of your summer working with kids, building friendships, learning leadership skills, exploring and enjoying the San Joaquin River!
The San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust is looking for energetic, fun loving high school students who are interested in developing their leadership and communication skills as well as gaining experience working with young children. Does this sound like you? Then come on out to River Camp this summer and become a Junior Leader!
Junior Leaders assist River Camp Staff in leading a variety of activities each day including arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing, games, and songs. They act as role models for the campers, demonstrating a spirit of respect for the environment, cooperation with camp rules and guidelines, and a willingness to work and play with everyone at River Camp. The Junior Leaders program includes the opportunity for teens to participate in team building and leadership activities with their peers during the one-week camp session.
Acceptance into the program is based on the submission of an application, 2 letters of recommendation, and completion of a personal interview. If an applicant is selected, a $50 fee will be charged for the week. Junior Leaders are provided with a staff shirt, appropriate training, staff manual, and a certificate of participation upon completion. Bag lunch and swimsuit are needed daily. Enrollment is limited.
The 2008 Application is now available!
