Currently, hundreds of acres of the San Joaquin River are infested with invasive, non-native weeds. Weeds like Scarlet Wisteria and Arundo out compete native vegetation, limit habitat for wildlife, and can have a devastating affect on natural fire and flood regimes. The River Parkway Trust, in partnership with The Nature Conservancy and River Partners, is currently working to remove these weeds and restore native habitat along 150 miles of the San Joaquin River. This is a great volunteer day for folks that want to take part in the San Joaquin River Restoration Program.
