For nearly 20 years, the River Parkway Trust has been offering an exciting, fun, and safe experience for the Valley's kids at River Camp. Our lively and experienced staff of counselors, lifeguards, visiting scientists and artists engage your children in activities that enhance their
understanding of and connection to the San Joaquin River. Campers will enjoy swimming in cool water, canoeing, exploring wildlife habitat, playing games, creating arts and crafts and making new friends during their week-long day-camp experience. The coveted 2013 T-shirt is included in the registration cost.
River Camp is held at Scout Island, a beautiful 85-acre outdoor education facility owned by the Fresno County Office of Education. Scout Island is located at the end of Van Ness Ave, easily acceptable from anywhere in Fresno. The River Parkway Trust is proud to partner with the FCOE in bringing local environmental education to the children in our community.
Each summer we are thrilled to see the familiar faces of our camp counselors and returning campers. Most of our camp staff have come up the ranks from campers to Junior Leaders to counselors, so they have incredible experience and knowledge of the River Camp setting. We also have a very high camper return rate, which fosters positive relationships between campers and the camp staff.
