Docents

Calling all River Docents!

When you volunteer as a River Docent, you will be joining other dedicated community volunteers in teaching local school children about the San Joaquin River. We strive to create an atmosphere of enjoyment and curiosity about the river, so that the students will want to learn about and care for this precious natural resource.

As a River Docent, you will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:

Work with teachers and children during field trips to the river
Visit classrooms with interactive presentations
Contribute to the environmental education of the next generation
Docent field trips and ongoing educational opportunities
Extensive training and materials are provided, and each docent is expected to make a commitment of 2 days per month.
