Field Trips

Take your class to the river!
  • A trained River Docent will assist you in planning and leading your trip
  • A comprehensive Teacher's Guide will be provided
  • Field equipment to accompany the lessons is supplied

Cost is $3.00 per student plus $5.00 for Teacher's Guide.

Grades K-8
Field trips are available to grades K-8 at Lost Lake Park, located 10 miles North of Woodward Park, or Scout Island, at the end of Van Ness Avenue.

4th Grade
Bring your 4th grade class to the River Center on Old Friant Road. A River Docent will lead your trip, which is tied to California State Social Science Standards, designed especially for 4th grades.

Plan on spending 3 to 4 hours at the site and bring lunch for your students.
