Respite by the River: Tanya Nichols, with music by Old Blue

Take a break from the rush of everyday life and join the River Parkway Trust for a Respite by the River. Bring your picnic dinner, blanket, lawn chair, and relax on the Ranch House front lawn while you enjoy live dinner music provided by talented local musicians. Macca's Wine Bar will be open during the dinner hour with wines for sale by the glass. Then you'll enjoy a reading by a Central Valley author. Dessert will be available for sale.

Evening Schedule is as follows: 
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Live dinner music, bring your dinner, purchase your glass of wine or dessert

7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Reading by acclaimed author

8:00 p.m. - Book sales and signing

Tanya Nichols is the author of two novels, The Circle Game and The Barber’s Wife. Her work has appeared in North Carolina Literary Review, Sycamore Review, In the Grove, and The San Joaquin Review. 
Tanya received her MFA in fiction writing from Fresno State University where she now teaches writing and literature courses. She also serves as the coordinator of the Young Writers’ Conference and editor-in-chief of The San Joaquin Review.

Americana band Old Blue is comprised of Burr Frye on guitar and vocals, Steve Giffen on keyboard and guitar, and Tanya Nichols on mandolin and vocals. Burr and Steve have been playing together for forty years, since before their college days at Berkeley, the “Old Blue”. The music of Old Blue is a blend of originals and sounds from yesteryear, a story worth telling behind every note.
