Join us on a fun, exciting adventure! River Buddies Weekend Explorers takes your 1.5-6 year old child on a journey like no other. As they adopt their new role of explorer, your child will go on a nature walk along the Hidden Homes Trail, sing fun and exciting songs, listen to a story about that day’s program theme, and participate in both a craft and hands on activity that are educational and fun! Your child will learn all about the local environment and animals that reside with us here at the River Center.
Pond Pals program theme includes:
- Hidden Homes Nature Trail: observe the many plants and animals that live on site and visit several larger-than-life animal homes along the way.
- Story and Song Time: learn about the life cycle of a frog, observe models of different life cycle stages, and sing a song about life as an amphibian.
- Pond Life Exploration: get up close to the wildlife that live in the cistern pond on the River Center property; use nets to catch frogs and fish and observe them up close before releasing them.
- Build-A-Pond Craft: create your very own pond magnet for a froggy friend to live in.
This adventure requires your child to be between the ages of 3 ½ to 6. Please note that there is a $12.00 fee per child and advanced registration with online payment is required for participation (please only select the number of CHILD participants when registering).
