March River Stewards Work Day

Registration is closed for this event

Help us install the landscaping at our Owl Hollow property on the banks of the San Joaquin River near the River Center. We have multiple tasks to be done including planting trees, installing drip irrigation, and seeding a native lawn. Owl Hollow is privately owned by the Trust and will serve as the future site of a new River Camp specifically for middle schoolers. The event will run from 9:00am until 12:00pm and is suitable for ages 10 and up.

Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle. All equipment is provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own work or gardening gloves if able.

Volunteers will meet at the River Center before carpooling to the site. Please arrive promptly at 9:00am.

The River Center is located at 11605 Old Friant Road, Fresno, CA 93730.

To get there from Fresno:

  • Head north on Highway 41 and exit Friant Road
  • Turn Right onto Friant Road towards Woodward Park and the town of Friant.
  • Turn left onto Old Friant Road.
  • Look for our palm trees and sign for the Coke Hallowell Center for River Studies.
