Did you know the Millerton Lake State Recreation Area provides wintering grounds for Bald Eagles migrating from Canada?

Each year a population of bald eagles travels more than 1,600 miles fromt heir summer breeding grounds in Canada to winter at Millerton Lake. Join us for walk at Millerton and a chance to catch a glimpse of these majestic birds. We will meet at the River Center, where bald eagles are also spotted regularly, and will caravan/carpool to Millerton. To make your experience more comfortable: wear layered clothing appropriate for the weather, long pants, closed-toe shoes, a hat and sunscreen. Please bring water, a snack and your favorite pair of binoculars. Some of the ground we will be walking on is uneven or rocky, but we'll go at a slow pace and stop often.

There is no charge for this walk. Donations are greatly appreciated and allow the Trust to continue providing public programs and activities.

Location Meet at the River Center: 11605 Old Friant Rd, 3-miles north of Woodward Park
