Join us for this training to learn basic kayak maneuvers, how to load and unload kayak trailers, and kayak equipment management. We will kayak the stretch of river from Owl Hollow to Fort Washington Beach, an approximately 3 hour trip.
We will be meeting at Fort Washington Beach (10705 N Lanes Rd, Fresno) at 8:30 AM. . The training will last until approximately 1:30 PM. Please dress appropriately for a day on the water, and bring sunscreen and water.

About the River Tours Program:
The San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust’s ‘River Tours’ program brings people out to the river for half-or-full day river experiences kayaking or canoeing on the San Joaquin. Volunteer guides are trained assistants that help teach tour participants the basics of canoeing or kayaking, assist with equipment management, and paddle the river with the group.
River Tours take place on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings from May-September, and are typically about 3-4 hours long. Tours typically cover one of two river stretches: Lost Lake Park to Owl Hollow (near the River Center on Old Friant Rd), or Owl Hollow to Fort Washington Beach. Volunteers are asked to commit to assisting with at least one trip each month.
