New Year's Eve with the Eagles - Bald Eagle Hike
Join guide Larry P. for this New Year's Eve morning hike to view and learn about the Bald Eagle. Each winter, majestic eagles overwinter along the shores of Millerton Reservoir. Join us for an easy 2-mile hike to view these magnificent birds, and welcome the new year with our national bird.
Guide Larry Parmeter is a retired high school educator and active member of the Fresno Audubon Society and Central Valley Astronomers. He volunteers with the River Parkway Trust's education and nature walk programs, specializing in birding hikes.
We will be meeting at the River Center at 8 AM, and will carpool to nearby Millerton Lake. Please dress appropriately and bring water and a small snack. Good hiking shoes and binoculars are recommended, leader(s) will have some binoculars for loan. Children 12+ welcome, no dogs please.
**Please note: bald eagle sightings are highly likely, but not guaranteed.**
