January River Stewards Work Day

Registration is closed for this event

Come help the River Parkway Trust plant native trees and shrubs to restore a former gravel mining pond. This event will take place at Fresno's River West and will run from 9:00am until 12:00pm. All equipment is provided but you are welcome to bring your own shovels, hand trowel, or gardening gloves if able. This event is great for individuals and groups of all ages. You can download the liability waiver ahead of time by clicking here.

Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle along with any snacks they may want.

Volunteers will meet at the gate to Fresno's River West. In Google maps search "river west access".

To get there from Fresno:

  • Take Highway 41N and exit Friant Road.
  • Turn Right onto Friant Road towards Woodward Park.
  • Turn Left  onto Audubon Drive and continue past the park then over the highway.
  • Turn Right onto Del Mar Avenue then make your first left onto Riverview Drive.
  • The gate to the property is straight ahead.
