Sycamore Island
Sycamore Island Ranch is a 600-acre natural area with river access and multiple ponds conveniently located in Madera near Valley Children's Hospital along the San Joaquin River.
Days Open: Sycamore Island is closed for the season and will reopen on Friday, January 12, 2023.
Seasonal Hours of Operation:
February, March, October, and November open 6:00 am-5:30 pm
April and September open 6:00 am-7:00 pm
May-August open 6:00 am-8:30 pm
Entrance fee: Access is free Monday through Friday. Day-use fees are collected Saturdays and Sundays. $9/vehicle, $5/trailer. An annual pass is available for $85. Purchase at the bait shop or save time by buying your pass online.

Calling all families! Join us for a fishing class to learn the basics of knot tying, rigging, and casting. Best suited for ages 8-12, but all ages welcome.
Sycamore Island Tips and Tricks Fishing Clinic

Are you already an angler but want to learn the best spots on site, which lures and bait to use, and which species are found in each pond? Join us for a fishing clinic to learn tips and tricks to help you make the most of your time at Sycamore Island. Ages 16+.
Boat Rentals
2-person canoes and 1-person sit-on-top kayaks can be rented at the bait shop on a first-come-first-serve basis for use in the ponds. Call ahead to check availability at (559) 801-8690. Paddles and life jackets are included with rentals.
Price: $10 per hour; or $50 for all-day rentals.
No experience is required and the boats are transported to and from the ponds for you. Our ponds offer a calm water experience all skill levels will enjoy.
Trails
Nature trails for wildlife observation, relaxing walks, riding bicycles, or riding horses.
Amenities
Restrooms are located throughout the park. Snacks, drinks, and bait are available for purchase at the bait shop.
Picnicking
Picnic under the shade of huge Sycamore and Oak trees or one of our covered shelters. Contact us to reserve a covered picnic shelter for your next event.
